The city of Detroit, Michigan, has been working to rebuild for many years. Still, finding investment is often an uphill battle. Fred Beal, President of a construction and renovation company, was hired to restore a row of duplexes in Detroit. "We do a combination of commercial restoration and residential," said Beal. "This project is an area with a lot of building loss. There's five duplexes in a row, and it's a bit of a rough spot, but an investor could accumulate four of them and make it into a project." The client first requested the rendering. "They wanted a rendering so they could make the financial pitch to the investors. I was looking for something that was timely and cost-effective. I had used rendering companies in the past, but I wanted something that was a step-up. VizSource seemed higher quality." Beal knew that presentation was important, as was accuracy. "Communication was good. I came up with some criteria and sent it in. The first draft had some things that the owner wanted to change, but that was fine because we could revise easily."
The rendering helped Beal and his client to focus their vision. "The rendering was a good representation, and it definitely gave me a better relationship with the client. They'll use it to pitch it to the investors." Whether the project is successful ultimately comes down to the investors. "People don't always realize the cost of things, but it depends on the person." Either way, Beal knows he made the best possible pitch with a great rendering. "VizSource did very good."
